Prices as of October 22, 2026 (price list v5).

Seedance 2.0 Fast vs Seedance 2.0 on Makernice: both take the same request, four input modes, 4–15 second clips and up to 9 reference images, and both always generate audio. Fast renders one 720p tier at $0.1027 per second; Seedance 2.0 renders 720p at $0.1704 or 1080p at $0.4252 per second.

Same request shape on both models: change the model field, then quote before you run a batch.

How much does each cost per second and per clip?

Same price in every mode. Clip price = per-second price × seconds, rounded to the cent; the quote shows the exact amount.

At 720p, Fast costs about 60% of Seedance 2.0 per second ($0.1027 against $0.1704). Ten 10-second drafts cost $10.272 on Fast and $17.04 on Seedance 2.0 at 720p (totals in exact micro-USD; $1.03 and $1.70 per clip as quoted). Billed in exact micro-USD, so a sum of rounded clip prices can differ by a cent.

Against the official list prices shown on our model pages, the two go in opposite directions: Seedance 2.0 Fast is below its official price ($0.1027 vs $0.121 per second), while Seedance 2.0 is above it at both tiers ($0.1704 vs $0.151 at 720p, $0.4252 vs $0.374 at 1080p).

Is Seedance 2.0 Fast faster?

ByteDance's official Dreamina Seedance 2.0 series tutorial recommends Fast "for a balance of cost and generation speed when top-tier quality is not required". We have no measured render times on Makernice, so this post gives no speed multiple or timing numbers. To check on your own workload, send the same prompt and seed to both model ids and time each job from create to succeeded.

When is Seedance 2.0 Fast enough?

  • Prompt exploration. Try wording, camera moves and seeds at $0.51 per 5-second clip.
  • Storyboards and animatics. First/last frame and reference-to-video work the same way as on Seedance 2.0, so you can block out a sequence before paying for 1080p.
  • High-volume 720p clips. Social cut-downs and previews that ship at 720p anyway.

When should you use Seedance 2.0 instead?

  • 1080p deliverables. Seedance 2.0 is the one of the two with a 1080p tier.
  • Final renders of the drafts you picked, at 720p or 1080p.
  • Beyond both: for clips longer than 15 seconds, use Seedance 2.5 (480p to 1080p, up to 30 seconds). Makernice also offers a separately priced 4K output option; ByteDance's official API tops out at 1080p (BytePlus ModelArk docs, checked October 22, 2026). See Seedance 2.5 vs Seedance 2.0.

A re-run on Seedance 2.0 is a new generation, not an upscale of your Fast draft. Keep the same prompt and seed; the result can still differ from the draft, and each run is quoted and charged separately.

How do you draft in Fast and finish in Seedance 2.0?

Same payload. For the final, change model and, for 1080p, add resolution. Fast has no resolution field, so leave it out of Fast requests.

Quoting is free and holds nothing; each quote is locked for 12 minutes. Create the generation with the quote_id and an Idempotency-Key, then poll (quickstart). Don't send generate_audio: on Seedance it returns a 400 before anything is held.

Where does each model win?

  • Seedance 2.0: the only one of the two with a 1080p tier. On our price list it is above ByteDance's official list price at both tiers.
  • Seedance 2.0 Fast: about 60% of the Seedance 2.0 per-second price at 720p, and below its official list price.
  • Other hosts: WaveSpeed and Atlas Cloud also list 480p and 1080p; on Makernice, Seedance 2.0 Fast is 720p only.
  • Output quality: we haven't compared outputs, so we don't rank them.
