Prompt

Self-filmed morning coffee vlog, 30 seconds, 16:9, nine shots followed by a short black screen, bright soft daylight through white curtains. Character: a young man in his mid-twenties, an original fictional character, with tousled light brown hair, clean-shaven, wearing a plain black crew-neck T-shirt; calm and focused, a little playful with the camera. Setting: a small white kitchen with white cabinets, a pale speckled countertop and a window behind sheer white curtains. On the counter: a brushed stainless-steel espresso machine with a built-in grinder and a black bean hopper on top, two steel milk pitchers, a black tamping mat and a cup glazed reddish-brown outside and white inside. Camera look: a small wide-angle camera that he either props on the counter or holds himself; slight barrel distortion, low counter-level angles, gentle wobble, occasional motion blur and soft natural colour, like a personal vlog rather than an advert. 0-3s: camera propped low on the counter: he reaches over to the machine, then leans close to the lens and says quietly, "Morning coffee, the proper way." 3-6s: low close-up looking up beneath the grinder spout: fresh grounds pour down into the portafilter and heap up. 6-9.5s: low close-up across the mat: he presses the tamper firmly into the portafilter, his concentrating face just behind his hand, a steel jug blurred in the background. 9.5-12s: side medium shot: he twists the portafilter into the group head, then turns to the camera: "Here we go." 12-15s: low detail shot at drip-tray level: two thin streams of espresso run from the spouts into the cup as the crema builds. 15-18s: medium shot from along the counter: standing by the machine, he glances at the camera, says "Time for the milk," and pours milk from one steel jug into the other. 18-21s: macro looking down into the pitcher: the steam wand tip spins the milk into a glossy whirlpool of fine foam. 21-24s: counter-level shot: a thin ribbon of milk falls into the cup and draws a layered tulip-like pattern on the crema. 24-28.5s: close handheld shot: holding the cup in both hands, he takes a slow sip with his eyes closed, lowers it, smiles and says, "That's exactly what I needed." Still holding the cup, he says "See you later" and reaches toward the lens until his palm covers it. 28.5-30s: black screen, almost silent. Sound: grinder whirr, the dull knock of tamping, the click of the portafilter locking in, espresso trickling, milk pouring, the hiss of the steam wand and a soft cup clink; his voice is quiet and casual. Do not render any text, subtitles or watermark on screen.

Run it with an AI agent

  1. Create an API key with its own spend limit.
  2. Copy the agent brief and paste it into Claude Code, Codex or another coding agent.
  3. The agent quotes first and waits for your OK, then creates with an Idempotency-Key and polls until the video is ready.

Why it's adapted

The creator's storyboard and the posted clip follow the same coffee routine, but several details differ. The prompt asks for footage the subject films herself while describing a young man; the clip shows a young man. It also asks for soft, grainy mini-DV tape footage, while the clip looks like a clean wide-angle camera with only light wobble. The prompt lays out ten even 3-second beats; the clip has nine shots of uneven length, then about 1.5 seconds of black after his hand covers the lens. The grinding shot is filmed from below the grinder spout, not overhead; instead of cold milk going into a pitcher, he pours milk from one steel jug into another; and the sip and the goodbye share a single final shot. The dialogue cannot be confirmed from the picture, so the four lines are kept where he visibly speaks. This version follows the clip and keeps the closing black. The posted file is 1280×720 and about 30 seconds, matching one 30-second Seedance 2.5 text-to-video run at 16:9 and 720p.

CAMERA / LOOK: Handheld mini DV camcorder footage filmed by the subject herself. Slight hand shake, occasional focus hunting, imperfect framing, natural zoom adjustments, soft tape-like image quality, subtle grain, realistic auto-exposure shifts from bright kitchen morning light. Natural skin tones, mild motion blur, authentic consumer camcorder aesthetic. STYLE: Cozy coffee-prep vlog with gentle ASMR elements. Relaxed pacing, minimal dialogue, candid moments. Focus on satisfying sounds: bean grinder whirring, portafilter tamping, steam wand hissing, cup clinking, milk frothing. SUBJECT: Young man in his mid-20s, plain t-shirt, hair slightly tousled, minimal accessories. Calm, focused energy while making his morning coffee. SETTING: Small kitchen counter with an espresso machine on a bright morning. Natural daylight, coffee beans and a mug nearby, quiet atmosphere. STORYBOARD: → (3s, propped medium shot) Places camera on the counter, switches on the machine. "Morning coffee, the proper way." → (3s, overhead shot) Grinds fresh coffee beans, fine grounds falling into the portafilter. → (3s, close-up) Tamps the grounds down firmly and evenly. → (3s, handheld shot) Locks the portafilter into the machine. "Here we go." → (3s, detail shot) Espresso streams slowly into a small cup. No dialogue. → (3s, medium shot) Pours cold milk into a small steel pitcher. "Time for the milk." → (3s, macro shot) Steam wand hissing as it froths the milk. → (3s, propped shot) Pours frothed milk carefully over the espresso, forming light layers. → (3s, warm ending shot) Holds the finished cup, takes a small sip, satisfied smile. "That's exactly what I needed." → (3s, final shot) Reaches toward camera, still holding the cup. "See you later." Hand covers lens as recording ends. AUDIO NOTES: Natural kitchen ambience — grinder whirring, tamping, steam hissing, milk pouring should be clearly audible. Dialogue quiet and casual. REALISM NOTES: Authentic body language, natural blinking, genuine focused smiles, occasional careful pauses while pouring, imperfect framing, focus breathing, bright morning light shifts. Should resemble a genuine personal coffee vlog on a consumer camcorder, not a commercial or AI-generated production.

Shot breakdown

Subject
An original young man in his mid-twenties with tousled light brown hair and a plain black T-shirt, plus his gear: a stainless espresso machine with a built-in grinder, two steel pitchers, a black tamping mat and a reddish-brown cup with a white interior.
Action
A full home latte in order: a greeting to camera, grounds falling into the portafilter, a firm tamp, locking the handle in, espresso running, milk transferred between jugs, steaming, the latte-art pour, and a sip that ends with his palm over the lens.
Camera
Nine shots with uneven lengths, cutting near 3, 6, 9.5, 12, 15, 18, 21 and 24 seconds, then 1.5 seconds of black. Most angles sit low at counter height with a wide lens; the macro of the steam wand and the close sip shot bring the camera right up to the action.
Style
Homemade, unpolished vlog footage in a bright white kitchen: soft window light through curtains, mild wide-angle distortion, handheld wobble and natural colour, deliberately not styled like a commercial.
Sound
Coffee-bar ASMR: grinder whirr, tamping knock, portafilter click, espresso trickle, pouring milk, steam-wand hiss and a cup clink, with four short, quiet lines of speech.

Make it yours

  • Each spoken line sits in quotes inside the shot where he says it; if the voice drifts onto the wrong shot, keep only the opening and closing lines and let the middle shots run on machine sounds.
  • To make a flat white or a cappuccino, rewrite only the 21-24s pour and the cup description; the grind, tamp and steam beats stay the same for any milk drink.
  • If you would rather end on the smile than on black, delete the 28.5-30s line, stretch the sip shot to 30s and cut the instruction to cover the lens.

FAQ

Is 30 seconds the most I can get for this latte vlog?

In one request, yes: Seedance 2.5 renders 4 to 30 seconds per run, and this prompt already uses the full 30. To add more, such as cleaning the machine or a second drink, generate another clip and repeat the same Character and Setting lines. For a seamless join, take a still from the end of the first clip and use it as the starting image in i2v mode.

Can I render the coffee close-ups in 4K?

Yes. Seedance 2.5 offers 480p, 720p, 1080p and 4K, and this page is set to its 720p default. The crema and milk-foam macros gain the most from 1080p or 4K, though a sharper render works against the homemade vlog look the prompt describes.

Can I put my own face and kitchen into this vlog?

With plain text-to-video you describe them in the Character and Setting lines. If you have photos, Seedance 2.5 also has an r2v mode that takes up to 16 images, and an i2v mode that starts from a single still; both accept the same aspect ratios as text-to-video.
