How do Wan 3.0 and MiniMax H3 compare side by side?

| Reference images | Up to 10 | Up to 5 | Up to 4 | No r2v |
| Reference-to-video ratios | Not accepted | Same six as its t2v | adaptive plus the same six | No r2v |
In the mode row, t2v is text-to-video, i2v is image-to-video, flf is first and last frame and r2v is reference-to-video. Since both base models cover all four, mode support will not decide between them; the numbers will. In image-to-video and first and last frame mode, none of these models takes an aspect_ratio field.
How long can a Wan 3.0 video be compared with MiniMax H3?
Wan 3.0 accepts a duration from 2 to 30 seconds with a default of 5, the widest range among the Wan and MiniMax models. MiniMax H3, H3 Max and H3 Max Turbo accept 5 to 15 seconds, also defaulting to 5. For clips shorter than 5 seconds or longer than 15, Wan 3.0 is the one that fits.
Can you choose the resolution on MiniMax H3?

Yes. MiniMax H3 offers 480p, 768p, 2k and 4k with a 2k default, so you can draft at 480p and finish at 2k or 4k on the same model. Wan 3.0 offers 480p, 720p and 1080p with a 720p default, so its top tier is 1080p. The difference is the set of tiers: only MiniMax H3 reaches 2k and 4k, only Wan 3.0 offers 720p, and H3 Max and H3 Max Turbo offer 480p, 768p and 1080p, defaulting to 768p.
Which aspect ratios does each model accept?
For text-to-video, Wan 3.0 accepts adaptive, 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3 and 3:4. MiniMax H3, H3 Max and H3 Max Turbo accept 21:9, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4 and 9:16, without adaptive. So 21:9 ultrawide is available only on the MiniMax side, and adaptive only on Wan 3.0.
How many reference images can Wan 3.0 and MiniMax H3 take?
In reference-to-video mode, Wan 3.0 accepts up to 10 reference images and takes no aspect_ratio. MiniMax H3 accepts up to 5 and lists the same six aspect ratios as its text-to-video mode. H3 Max accepts up to 4 and also allows adaptive, while H3 Max Turbo has no reference-to-video mode at all.
