Is Makernice a good GoEnhance API alternative?
Looking for a GoEnhance API alternative? Makernice is a developer API for 13 video and 4 image models, including Seedance 2.5, Kling 4.0, Wan 3.0 and MiniMax H3, with video billed per second in US dollars and a 12-minute price quote before every run. Does this compare the GoEnhance app or the GoEnhance API?
The API only. This page compares the GoEnhance developer API at platform.goenhance.ai with Makernice's API. GoEnhance's creator app at goenhance.ai has its own plans and isn't compared here. Makernice is an async REST API (quote, create, poll, cancel), plus a browser console that uses the same models, prices and balance.

Makernice prices are per second of requested duration, the same in every mode, 4-decimal truncation; live at GET https://api.makernice.com/v1/pricing. GoEnhance charges tokens, 50 to the US dollar; its docs say a discount active on your account lowers the tokens actually charged, so your rate may be below these list rates. Makernice Kling always includes audio. GoEnhance's other tiers on shared models: Seedance 2.0 at 480p 0.120 and 4K 1.316; Seedance 2.0 Fast at 480p 0.096; MiniMax H3 at 720p 0.06. Makernice's other Seedance 2.5 tiers: 1080p $0.6415 and 4K $1.955. Makernice costs less per second for Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0 and 2.0 Fast, Kling 4.0, Kling 3.0 Standard and Pro with audio, and Wan 3.0. GoEnhance costs less for Kling 3.0 4K, MiniMax H3 at 480p and 2K, and Happy Horse 1.1, and it sells tiers Makernice doesn't, such as Kling 3.0 with sound off and Seedance 2.0 at 480p. Run your mix through the cost calculator and hold it against your GoEnhance usage.
How does billing differ?
| Makernice | GoEnhance API (from GoEnhance's docs, checked 2026-11-02) | |
|---|---|---|
| Billing unit | US dollars: video per second of requested duration, images per image | Tokens, 50 to the US dollar; most video models per second of generated video, a few at a fixed price per task |
| Price before the run | A quote for every generation, locked for 12 minutes; full list public at GET /v1/pricing | Per-model token rates on each docs page; the create response returns cost, the tokens actually charged. A separate pre-run quote: not stated in GoEnhance's docs (checked 2026-11-02) |
| When the money is taken | The quoted amount is held when you create the generation and charged when the run completes | "Tokens are deducted the moment a task is accepted, not when it finishes" |
| Failed run | Not charged; the hold is released in full. Note: if a finished output is blocked by output moderation for a policy violation, the run is still charged. You can contact support for a manual review. | "If the generation ends in failure, the same amount is refunded automatically" |
| Blocked by output moderation | A finished output blocked by output moderation for a policy violation is still charged; you can contact support for a manual review | — |
| Cancel | Queued jobs can be cancelled; the hold is released in full. A running job can't be cancelled (409 not_cancelable) | — |
| Output files | Outputs are deleted about 30 days after they're stored, so download them promptly. | Result links expire 24 hours after the job finishes; generated content is deleted after one week, per its privacy terms |
| Concurrent jobs | 2 generations at a time per account by default; contact support to raise it | Set by total spend: 3 tasks at the first tier, rising to 20 or more; extra tasks wait in a queue |
| Payment | Prepaid USD, top-ups $15–$1,000 (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, crypto); no subscription, no free tier; the balance never expires | Pay as you go with tokens, no subscription required |
| Fees on top | No top-up fee from Makernice; sales tax/VAT may apply at checkout depending on your location. | — |
| Your content | Makernice doesn't use your content to train models. | Says it doesn't use content generated through its API for its own purposes |
— = not stated on the competitor's public pages, checked 2026-11-02. GoEnhance quotes are from its API introduction; concurrency from its billing page; retention from its job status and privacy pages. Full Makernice rules with examples: No charge for failed generations.
Neither side charges for a failed run, but the money moves differently: GoEnhance deducts tokens when it accepts a task and refunds them if the generation fails, while Makernice holds the quoted amount and releases the hold. The bigger practical differences are the locked quote before each run and how long outputs stay downloadable: 24 hours for a GoEnhance result link, about 30 days on Makernice.
How do you move a GoEnhance task to Makernice?
A GoEnhance task becomes three Makernice calls: quote, create, poll. Both are async REST APIs with a Bearer key. Makernice isn't OpenAI-SDK compatible, so you call its REST endpoints directly.

Where does GoEnhance win?
- A much larger catalog. 35 models from 11 providers by its own count, including Veo 3.1, Vidu, Grok Imagine, Nano Banana and GPT Image, plus speech, music, video upscaling and lip-sync endpoints.
- Lower prices on some rows. Kling 3.0 4K, MiniMax H3 at 480p and 2K, and Happy Horse 1.1.
- Cheaper Seedream 5.0 Pro images. GoEnhance lists 0.0345 per image at 1K and 0.069 at 2K, against Makernice's $0.0351 and $0.0702 for text-to-image; its first reference image is free.
- Tiers Makernice doesn't sell. Kling 3.0 with sound off, Seedance 2.0 at 480p and 4K, Seedance 2.0 Fast at 480p.
- More Kling 4.0 controls. Up to 8 middle keyframes, reference videos and a video-edit endpoint.
- Larger Seedance 2.5 references. Up to 30 images, 10 videos and 10 audio clips per reference-to-video request; Makernice takes up to 16 images.
- More concurrent jobs. 3 at its first spending tier and up to 20 or more, against 2 by default on Makernice.
About Makernice
Makernice is an AI video and image generation API: one API key and one prepaid balance for 17 models from ByteDance, Kuaishou, MiniMax and Alibaba. Every run starts with a quote that locks the price for 12 minutes, through Makernice's own async REST API (quote, create, poll, cancel).
Frequently asked questions
Is Makernice a GoEnhance alternative?
For developers using the GoEnhance API, yes. Makernice serves 13 video and 4 image models, including Seedance, Kling 4.0, Wan 3.0 and MiniMax H3, on one key and one prepaid balance. It doesn't replace GoEnhance's creator app or its speech, music and upscaling endpoints.
Is Makernice cheaper than GoEnhance?
It depends on the model. On November 2, 2026, Makernice was lower for Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Fast, Kling 4.0, Kling 3.0 Standard and Pro with audio, and Wan 3.0. GoEnhance was lower for Kling 3.0 4K, MiniMax H3 at 480p and 2K, and Happy Horse 1.1.
Does GoEnhance charge for failed API tasks?
No. GoEnhance's API docs say tokens are deducted when a task is accepted and refunded automatically if the generation fails. Makernice doesn't charge for failed runs either: the quoted amount is held and released in full. Note: if a finished output is blocked by output moderation for a policy violation, the run is still charged. You can contact support for a manual review.
Can I see the price before a video runs?
On Makernice, yes. Request a quote for the model, mode, resolution and duration; the price is locked for 12 minutes and the run is charged exactly that amount. GoEnhance publishes per-model token rates and returns the tokens charged once a task is accepted; we didn't find a separate quote step in its docs on November 2, 2026.
How long can I download outputs?
GoEnhance result links expire 24 hours after a job finishes, and its privacy terms say generated content is deleted after one week. Makernice outputs are deleted about 30 days after they're stored, and each output shows its expiry date.
