Prompt

3D animated family comedy, 13 seconds, vertical 9:16. Look: stylized 3D animated feature-film style with original character designs, expressive cartoon faces, detailed skin and hair, realistic fabric and cloth simulation, cinematic depth of field, smooth camera moves, warm emotional lighting. Original cartoon characters, identical throughout: a cute baby boy with big expressive blue eyes in an orange shirt; his father, clean-shaven, with round glasses, asleep under a blue blanket; his mother with long wavy brown hair in a soft cream nightshirt. 0-3s, night: a cozy bedroom lit by a dim bedside lamp; the baby stands on the bed beside his sleeping father, clutching a fistful of colorful markers, head tilted with curiosity. 3-6s, the prank: close-ups of tiny hands drawing a bright curly mustache and playful swirls on the father's cheeks and around his nose; he snores on, completely unaware. 6-8s: the baby tugs the blue blanket to wake him; the soft mattress bounces; cute, determined face. 8-11s, morning: the room is now filled with golden sunlight; the father sits up beside the mother, the colorful doodles still on his face; they notice and stare at each other in surprise. 11-13s: the baby sits between them laughing; both parents burst out laughing; end on a close-up of the baby's giggling face with his parents laughing behind him. Smooth scene transitions, natural body movement, consistent faces and clothing. Sound: soft playful music, marker squeaks, gentle snoring, baby giggles, warm family laughter. No subtitles, no on-screen text, no watermark.

Run it with an AI agent

  1. Create an API key with its own spend limit.
  2. Copy the agent brief and paste it into Claude Code, Codex or another coding agent.
  3. The agent quotes first and waits for your OK, then creates with an Idempotency-Key and polls until the video is ready.

Why it's adapted

The posted video is about 13.5 seconds; Makernice takes the duration as a number of seconds from 4 to 30, so the adaptation asks for 13 and fits five time-coded beats into it. The original gave dad a curled mustache before the prank, which muddies the joke, so the adapted father is clean-shaven. Its studio reference was swapped for wording that describes the animation look on its own terms, the mother gets a fixed look because she enters mid-story, and the lines asking for 4K and a frame rate are gone, since output resolution is a request setting. The original upload, a 720×1280 file, says little about how it was generated, as it could have been enlarged afterward. On Makernice the prompt produces one uninterrupted 13-second vertical clip with a soundtrack.

Scene 1: In a cozy bedroom at night, a cute baby with big expressive blue eyes, wearing an orange shirt, stands on the bed beside his sleeping father. The father is lying under a blue blanket, wearing glasses, with a funny curled mustache. The baby curiously looks at him, holding colorful markers. Show close-up shots of the baby's tiny hands drawing on the father's cheeks and around his nose. The father remains asleep, unaware of the prank. Scene 3: The baby pulls the blue blanket and tries to wake his father. Use natural body movements, soft mattress reactions, and cute facial expressions. Scene 4: Transition to a warm morning bedroom filled with golden sunlight. The father wakes up and sits on the bed with his wife beside him. Both parents notice the funny drawings on his face and look at each other in surprise. Scene 5: The baby sits happily between his parents, laughing joyfully. The mother and father finally burst into laughter when they realize what the baby has done. End with a close-up of the baby's adorable laughing face and both parents laughing together. Shot breakdown

Subject
A baby boy with big blue eyes in an orange shirt, a clean-shaven father in round glasses under a blue blanket, and a mother with long wavy brown hair who only appears in the morning half. Keeping dad clean-shaven makes the drawn mustache unmistakable.
Action
Five beats: the baby sizes up his sleeping dad with markers in hand, draws swirls and a curly mustache, tugs the blanket to wake him, then comes the morning reveal and a shared laugh with the baby in the middle.
Camera
A wide shot of the lamp-lit bed, tight close-ups on the tiny hands and the father's cheek during the drawing, a medium two-shot for the morning surprise, and a closing close-up on the giggling baby with his parents soft in the background.
Style
Original character designs rendered in a stylized 3D animated feature-film style, with detailed skin and hair, realistic fabric and shallow depth of field. The lighting shift from dim lamp-warm night to golden morning sun marks the time jump without a title card.
Sound
Soft playful music with small foley cues that sell the prank: marker squeaks, gentle snoring and the mattress bounce, then baby giggles and the parents' laughter. Subtitles and on-screen text are excluded.

Make it yours

  • Swap the prank without touching the structure: stickers on dad's forehead, a ribbon tied in his hair or a crown of paper stars all fit the same draw-then-reveal beats.
  • If 13 seconds feels tight, raise the duration to 16 and add a beat at 13-16s where dad catches his reflection in a hand mirror; update the seconds in the prompt to match.
  • Name the doodle colors, for example green swirls and a purple mustache, in both the night and morning beats so the drawing looks the same across the time jump.

FAQ

The original runs about 13.5 seconds. Why does this page use 13?

Seedance 2.5 on Makernice takes a duration in seconds between 4 and 30, and 13 keeps the original's pacing. If you want a little more room for the final laugh, request 14 and stretch the last beat to 11-14s in the prompt.

Can I make sure the clip ends exactly on the baby's laughing face?

In text-to-video the closing shot is only described, so the model interprets it. Seedance 2.5 also has a first-and-last-frame mode that supports the same 9:16 setting: supply an opening still of the night bedroom and a closing still of the laughing baby, and keep the five beats as the motion description in between.

Which resolution should I use while getting the timing right?

Seedance 2.5 renders at 480p, 720p, 1080p or 4k; its default, 720p, is also what this page uses. A quick pass at 480p is enough to judge whether the drawing beat and the morning reveal fit in 13 seconds; move to a higher setting once the pacing works.
